The Nu Project

The Nu Project is a series of honest nudes of women from all over the world. The project began in 2005 and has stayed true to the original vision: no professional models, minimal makeup and no glamour. The focus of the project has been and continues to be the subjects and their personalities, spaces, insecurities and quirks.

Be loud

“If you inhabit a body that’s in some way been deemed unacceptable— if you’re a woman, a queer person, a transgender person, a person of color, a person of the ‘wrong’ size or shape, a trauma victim of any gender— then to insist upon your own existence is one of the most revolutionary acts you can perform.”
— The Eyes On the Bus. Carolyn Zaikowski writes a different approach to self-care.

Real women have curves

What's your idea of beauty? Do you want to be happy? Is what you're doing really worth it? Do you want to be starving, hungry, have bad breath and hate yourself? Or accept the fact that you are beautiful in your own way, no matter what people say?

Brain is very powerful, you can make your mind understeand and make your own way, establish your own rules of the game, regardless of other people opinions. Don't fall for their stupid stereotypes.

Learning how to eat

I've recently read many blogs about recovery recipies and all of them say the same. You MUST gain weight.

First thing you need to know is you will be feeling really full, your body needs time to readapt to a healthy lifestyle after you gain some weight. It is completly normal to feel gross, weird, bloated and sometimes very guilty.

Learning how to eat again is one of the most difficult steps of recovery, it takes a lot of time and courage because your body isn't used to that alimentary habits anymore but it's all part of the process, you won't feel bad forever.

This may sound ironic but you need to forget about the calories counting and food, don't blame yourself, avoid comparing to others, you are beautiful in your own way and you don't need to keep starving to be pretty, you need to be happy. To forget about your ED, think about something else and get distracted, everytime you feel you will be tempted or you feel you can't do it anymore, go out, take a walk, be with your friends, listen to a good song, do something usefull but stop focusing on your misery and pain because it will only get worse, get out.

A good way of making eating a good time is by cooking your own meals and make some fun recipies which I'll try to be posting later.

Don't say this to someone with an ED!

I was looking at a tumblr about anorexia recovery when I saw this and I thought it was worth it :

  3. I’m starting this new diet..
  4. Starving yourself is really bad for you *goes on to explain multiple things that starving can do to your body*
  5. I know how you feel, I almost never eat sweets apart from on special occasions because I feel fat.
  6. I know what you’re going through, I was anorexic for a week once
  7. There’s nothing wrong with doing lots of exercise.
  8. Just stop obsessing about weight
  9. I barely need any food, I never get hungry
  10. Anorexia is a disease that happens when someone gets really thin
